Departure of Bingham Centre Director
Professor Christina Murray has indicated that, to her great regret, she will be leaving the Bingham Centre early in 2017 for personal reasons that will also necessitate her spending more time in South Africa.
Christina said: 'It has been a great privilege to lead the Bingham Centre, with its excellent group of energetic and committed researchers. Few institutions I know are able to cover the range of issues and respond as rapidly to emerging events as it does. That makes it an exciting and challenging place to be. I will miss it. Challenging times for the rule of law lie ahead and I am sure that the Centre will continue to contribute to meeting these in the UK and globally.'
Robert McCorquodale, Director of BIICL, commented: 'Christina has contributed very significantly to the research work of the Bingham Centre in her time as Director. We are grateful for what she has done to maintain and enhance its work, and to generate interesting and important research funding ideas.'
An advertisement for the position of Director of the Bingham Centre will be made shortly.
